Isto sucedeu-lhe a Paula Rios, umha colega, numha viagem a Calcuta. Pois si.
Resulta que Paula entrou num táxi amarelo e aproveitou para telefonar á casa.
- Sim, sim, a cidade é impressionante.
- ...
- Isto é umha formigueiro, as ruas estám ateigadas de gente, si...
- ...
- As cores, as cores som maravilhosas, estou a descobrer cores que nom conhecia!
- ...
- Venha, um abraço!
E justo no momento em que Paula desligou o telefone o taxista freou o táxi em seco, nhiiiiiiii, e olhou para atrás, com os olhos mui abertos e dixo-lhe a Paula:
- Havia anos que nom escoitava falar na minha língua! Desculpe, estou emocionado...
Si, o home, o taxista de Calcutá, contou-me Paula, estava emocionado, brilhavam-lhe os olhos como se acabasse de encontrar alguém que nom via em muitos anos.
E o taxista de Calcutá contou-lhe a sua história: nascera em Goa, a antiga colónia portuguesa na Índia. E aprendera a falar em portugués. Mas de novo deixou Goa e chegou a Calcutá, trabalhar.
- Havia anos que nom escoitava falar a minha língua!, repetiu. E perguntou: A senhora de onde é?
Pois, dixo Paula, sorrindo. E começou a explicar-lho:
- Conhece a Galiza?
